After graduation, we decided that it was high time for Peyton to meet up with his best friend - Mickey Mouse! Peyton has a special plush toy of Mickey that he loved to naw on while teething and everytime he saw Mickey his eyes would light up. Of course, we were interested to see how this would play out in real life. So it was off to Disneyworld for the Biehl's. We also wanted to give ourselves a special treat as this was our last hoorah in Florida before our big move. For this, we decided to go to Harry Potter world too.
We kept our schedule very flexible and knowing we had a baby with a structured schedule - we did our research on baby friendly venues in the parks.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn how wonderful the parks were and even with the warm weather (Florida in June is not my cup of tea), everything went smoothly. Disney has special baby centers with everything you could possibly need, perhaps a fan for your stroller? These locations were air conditioned, had comfortable seating, and special nursing rooms for moms. We spent a bit of time at these places (in between our meet ups with Mickey) and I was so grateful for the attentive staff and convenience of it all.
At Harry Potter world, Peyton flirted with the staff and got us special VIP passes to skip the lines for the rides. This coupled with the child swap options made the process so easy to access. The only problem we ran into was the crowded shops are not so stroller friendly, but that was to be expected.
Harry Potter world has us enjoying loads of Butter Beer (like 7...) and Honeydukes. We loved the feeling of walking through Hogsmeade and did not disappoint!
At Disneyworld, little man got his first set of ears and we were so impressed by this kid's patience and personality. Every person we came in contact with was charmed, but none as much as Minnie and Mickey themselves. We thought that perhaps Peyton might smile a bit and find meeting Mickey funny, but we were shocked that he not only recognized him but reached out to slobber kiss all over him! He was beyond thrilled.
